I’ve seen many different typography effects on the web, and one of my favorites is always when I see one from the movie TRON Legacy. Today I decided to share my own text effect and the assets for it, FREE!

Today’s video is about the importance of typography in the graphic design industry. Typography is something that many designers take for granted preferring to focus on the more glamorous aspects of design. However typography is something that will be immediately noticed and valued in your portfolio when applying for jobs in the field, especially in the advertising industry.

This is my latest freebie in honor of #typographytuesday. I have to say I really enjoyed working on this one, I haven’t done a lot with 3D type in the past and this was a real challenge in combining my skills with both Illustrator and Photoshop.

In keeping with #typographytuesday I have featured a Graphic Designer who excels at the art of typography! For sometime now I’ve been working on a project I haven’t told many people about, but finally it’s time to let out the secret, if you read the headline of this post then you have probably guessed it, I will be publishing my first Art Book in the first quarter of 2010!

I really do love the Helvetica font-face and I just wanted to share some of the typographic artwork it has inspired me to create.

I was approached by another Graphic Designer “Okee”, to develop a logo for him. Okee specializes in original designs for products, mostly t-shirts and occasionally commission digital artwork and has several products featured in online stores.

Many designers, have and will continue to underestimate the amazing power and range of typography.
There are several reasons for this, but the reality is that typography is essential to a design skill set.
When stacked against photo-manipulation, digital painting, vexel artwork, and animation, the prospect of working with type, doesn’t sound all that exciting to most people.
Truthful, its because they don’t know any better.
