As many of you know I am a huge fan of the very talented Kyle Lambert, a young Digital Artist gaining some ground in the UK. The amazing level of detail, precision and speed in his work is beyond belief. Well he has managed to do top himself if that is possible by showing off his tremendous skills with a finger painting on the new iPad. I want to also point out that he was using the default paint application of the iPad, rather than Photoshop (in which case this still would have been difficult and amazing)! Roberto Blake Featured in Photoshop Creative 60

Hey everyone, I”m really excited about this post. I was recently featured in another photoshop magazine. Photoshop Creative recently started a Reader’s Gallery section and was kind enough to include some of my artwork in issue 60 of the magazine, which you can find at pretty much any book store in the magazine section or oder from their website. I can’t tell you how happy I am about tall the wonderful exposure my art has been getting lately.

As creatives we always seek some level of validation from our peers and the people who inspire us. We also have a desire to share our work with as many people as possible. In this way seeing your work published in a major venue is a great boost to morale for any artist or designer. The pieces selected were some of my own personal favorites.

Featured Artist Zach Bush

It’s been a while since I had a featured artist on the blog but I’m really excited about this one. Zach Bush is one of my favorite digital artist on deviantart and his work happened to be featured on the cover of the same issue of Advanced Photoshop Magazine that I happened to appear in this month.

I actually hope to be able to interview him in the near future. Zach’s work is just amazing and he is diverse in his abilities, showcasing talent in photo manipulation, digital painting, and typography. His level of ability is certainly something to aspire to.

Skin Deep by Zach Bush

Skin Deep was featured on the cover of Advanced Photoshop 67, the issue in which I am featured in the readers gallery. Zach also demonstrates a tutorial that allows you to recreate this cover.

The Second Coming by Zach Bush

The Second Coming, was a piece Zach did for a deviantart contest sponsored by the game Darksiders, called “End of Days”. The general idea is to create an image depicting some aspect of the Apocalypse. I really like the direction Zach took as it was dramatically different from the other entries which mostly featured the four horsemen.

The Mad Hatter by Zach Bush

I honestly would love to see a movie or read an Alice in Wonderland story featuring this version of the Mad Hatter. Zach took this already piece of dark fiction to another level with his work. I believe this was featured on DEPTHCORE.

A Soul's Silhouette by Zach Bush

This was a creative piece of photo manipulation where Zach demonstrates his ability to effectively combine several techniques and distinct elements. This is probably my favorite piece from him.

Its been a while since I’ve done a featured artist from deviant art, I apologize because its long over due, and the new year has given me a new schedule as well as many new projects to handle. but fear not, the days of slack are now behind us! Today’s artist that I’ve feature has some work that simply blew me away when I saw it. Her work managed to find its way into my favorites collection fairly quickly. Fountain of Youth by Richard Turgeon

Honestly Fountain of Youth takes my breath away every time I see it. There were a fantastic series of effects and techniques combined to make this image work, and some very subtle things that I notice for the first time every time that I look at it. Almost as if it becomes new again!

The originality of this piece is what touches me about it. I love how insubstancial the angel is and the idea of it being a rushing wind.

Like mos of Ricky’s elemental pieces this one could have just as easily walked out of a Magic the Gathering trading card, the work is just that stunning and elaborate. Cloud elemental has a strong but indescribably beautiful quality to it. The brush work and colors are amazing.

The style and surrealism of this image inspires me to draw something whenever I look at it. The fantastic colors, swirls and shapes are exciting and create a great deal of intensity.

I love the feeling of this image, particularly the tones. This image reminds me of the movie Clash of the Titans. I love the combination of effects and imagery used here, and how naturally everything fits together.

This image is dark and lovely. I love the lighting effects, the brush work and the choices in color, the entire image is vibrant and alive.

In keeping with #typographytuesday I have featured a Graphic Designer who excels at the art of typography! Mr Graphics Guy of Deviant Art whom had much of his work showcased in my article 30 Examples of TypographyDesign is a master of typographic design and a great source of inspiration in the Deviant Art Community.

In addition to the aesthetically pleasing aspects of his design work, much of it sends some very interesting and powerful social messages, which I feel is something more artist could benefit from, as well as it being a great way to reach people!
