Poker Face
More often than not I get the creative inspiration for my artwork from music, movies, or books. In this case I was inspired by watching the music video “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga. I found the colors, objects and symbols that repeated throughout the video (mostly associated with cards and gambling), to be a great source of design inspiration. Feeling the need to work more with closeups I decided that the stock image on the cover of Issue 55 of Advanced Photoshop Magazine, would be perfect for this project.
The photography in this image is completely original. This is from last year’s photo shoot at Mertile Beach, that myself and John Covington shot together. I’m really happy with most of the shots we got that day, but this one in particular had a lot of potential and I decided to revisit it for some photoshop work rather than using a stock image.
“Dark Leap” is one of my more recent adventures into the vivid commercial effects style that has become increasingly popular among designers. This image incorporated a variety of tool and techniques, to create its stunning visual effects. IN this post I will go on to explain some of the techniques and tools used to create the image.
TweetMaking your own resources is very important aspect of web design, that is often overlooked.
Why is it important? Simply because one of the other important aspects, (probably the most important one) is time management. No matter how great a designer, artist, or coder you are, time will be your constant enemy.
In this tutorial we will use some “5 minute Photoshop” to change the eye color of a subject quickly, easily, and naturally. We will be using the Edit Quick Mask Mode, and Adjustment Layers in this tutorial.
