Featured Artist Carolyn White aka Miskis of DeviantArt
As I stated in the past, one of the things I like to do with this blog is share with you the work of other talented individuals. I’m trying to get to a point of featuring at least one or two different artist a week. If there is a graphic designer, digital artist, or illustrator you would like to see get some exposure please let me know.
Today I wanted to share with you the work of Carolyn White also known as Miskis, a friend of mine on deviantart.com whose work has been inspiring and words have been encouraging. She has a great talent for digital arts and her work is nothing short of amazing. I’m sure that her unique style will definitely leave an impression on you. Please show your love by commenting and also by visiting her page on deviantart.
Finding Center
A newer image with a great feel to it, I love the texture and bronze color work as well as the tones in this piece.
The visual direction, flow and balance is this image is strong and works really well, and you can also see a great attention to detail.
Piece of My Heart
The imagery here is compelling and I love the manipulation of eye direction, as well as the contrast. Though the subject is not centered the image still accomplishes visual balance and good overall composition perfectly. You can also see intricate brush work and subtle strokes in this image, everything was done in a purposeful way. This image was the winner of the Think Pink IV contest on deviantart this year if I remember correctly.
Go
Go is yet another striking piece in this series. I love the brush work in this one, the deep reds used were an excellent touch, and I really feel that this works well with as much going on in this image as there is.
What Became of Apricot
The most colorful image in the series I have to say “What Became of Apricot” is one of my favorites. I love the pose of the model as well as the striking work done on the eyes which really capture me. The floral work was a nice touch as well as the other additional elements. This image really stimulates the senses and has a great deal of visual impact and appeal.
Evolution of Light
This image is another of my favorites, Evolution of Light is very tastefully done in my opinion. The retouching and brushwork what was originally an artistic nude stock from Marcus J Ranum, is extensive here, with some very fine use of texture and subtle tones and blends.
Sister Bear
The final piece in this feature is one I felt necessary to share with you to show you Carolyn’s amazing skills in digital painting. This image is unique and compelling and demonstrates a great amount of attention to small details and creating an image that doesn’t come out flat.
